Jewellery from Bricolage

My intention is to create jewelry pieces, using an arrangement of available things that are readily available, within my environment.

I plan to continue resurrecting objects to create new pieces of jewelry and accessories.

I have found working in this manner to be successful both on an artistic level as well as being able to produce a commercially viable product.

Previous works consisted predominantly of belt buckles appropriated from old cassette tapes.

On a personal level, this is not jewelry i would wear myself but i liked making them, and i think it would be worthwhile to experiment making smaller sizes, with a different variety of found materials.

I would however like to explore further the potential of including other materials like silver to see how the combination of raw materials and metal smithing techniques might effect the overall design aesthetic.

In doing this i want to see how mixing precious and non precious materials might enhance the overall perception of my work.

Im concerned with trying to find ways of broadening the perceptions of value by incorporating silver elements.

In addition i am also interested in experimenting with found objects that can be transformed into metal, using found materials as a point of reference.
