Clamp Bracelet- found objects

So I,ve finished my second clamp bracelet in true bricolage style.
Consisting of cambelt, scrap aluminum, copper, silver and pc board i have constructed yet another street inspired piece of Jewellery from found objects.

The rule of the process when working as a bricoleur is to always make do with whats available. I initially thought about using copper rivets to connect all the related pieces, but due to copper theft being on the rise in South Africa, copper wire was difficult to source.

A woman by the name of Jessica Rich from  shop in Durban gave me 50 grams of silver so i made use of it and made wire for the rivets. The other materials were oddments, i have collected, and felt all the materials would work well together to create a unified aesthetic.

The worn aluminum paint effect has a feeling of a weathered stop sign. The wear on the paint is rather dramatic but i feel it is beautifull in it own right.

The other thing was the section that looks as if i pierced out a shape that looks like a key hole, was already there. I just utilised the shape as an accidental design that just manifested in the moment.

I have to admit i was dying to use Pc board as a backing for this piece. I really just like the visual texture of the pc board and thought it would make an interesting visual contrast against the aluminium.
It does'nt really say street, mabee it says street geek?

On a technical note, i made the catch from copper sheet, and scrap which i found in the workshop. For this process i had to melt copper scrap for the securing pin on the catch, but the plate section was sourced from within close proximity of my environment.
There was also the technicallity of soldering the pin to the plate, but everything worked out really well.

On the body the clamp bracelet functions as it should. It sits comfortably on the wrist and the catch mechanisim securely closes the bracelet.
I now have a better understanding of where the rivets need to be positioned for marrying elements together on the side panels.
Im happy with the overall outcome of this piece and am confident that the following concept of creating a type of mural consisting of more than one bracelet in a simmilar style should be easilly executed.
