The wrist Cuff:technical Process

Im currently developing a range of Bracelets, but i prefer to refer to them as wrist cuffs.
Last week whilst making a wrist cuff for myself consisting of a piece of car cambelt and silver, i managed to figure out all the technical problem solving of the catch mechanism as well as the side panel component.

My aim was to continue working with other upcycled materials, that could be combined with the cambelt section. I was hoping to find relatively thick pieces of aluminum that could make up the side panel feature.
I was fortunate in finding painted aluminum scraps of metal, and was drawn to their street sign type of feeling.

I experimented with cutting flat elements from the red aluminum sheet, and so far have bent them to meet the other sections of the cambelt.

I am also very attracted to the way the paint has chipped off on the corners, I seem to be fascinated with materials that reveal their history and the natural effects of time.

I just need to make the catch component that will enable the fastening of the red aluminum side panel.
I may make it out of silver, or copper, but that is yet to be decided.

Im very excited about the look and feel of the new wrist cuffs and plan on making more to see where this process will lead.
