Stop Motion - Interpret Durban

Ive begun making a short stop motion film for the Interpret Durban Design Exhibition.
The characters consist of a traveling suitcase and some toy soldiers.
The second scene using toy soldiers sliding over the top of the bridge was inspired by a painting called Tolgate 1.- Freeway series,  which i saw at the Kznsa lastweek by a fine artist by the name of Nicole Pletts.

Tolgate Bridge on Berea road has always stood out as a prolific landmark in Durban, so whilst experiencing the painting which is a distinct reminder of home i felt it was a good place to start.

The earlier scene of the suitcase climbing up the hill was interrupted by Police and
they made me feel guilty even though my intensions were naturally innocent so i kind of wondered if its illegal to take pictures now in durban too, which sent me too scene two.

Some startling effects materialized whilst shooting from the top of the bridge.
Due to it being very windy, their some interesting changes in light, as well as a lot of interesting movement of the clouds, cars and people, once again with the soldiers taking the stage as the key figures in this short and sweet random tale.

Tomorrow i will shoot the last two scenes with Durban bay and the city as a backdrop probally with the soldiers floating on the suitcase.
I just got to check the tides and time of day to see what type of light im going to be working with.
