Durban Solid Waste!

Its been a rather eventfull day.Actually its been a rather eventfull weekend, inclusive of Monday, but for todays meanderings ,we will just focus on monday.

This morning i awoke to the chilling reality that durban has been unusually cold latey. Thermal under clothing and three blankets kind of underpins this reality.

As i left the house and drove up the road that parts the main university Campus from the UKZN sports centre, it didnt surprise me that their was a layer of frost over the grass.

"Frost" in Durban? It could'nt be! It could never be that cold!, and at closer inspection it was'nt!  In actual fact it was shredded paper in vast quantities strewn in the grass, but it could very well have been frost. It fooled me, and i spent alot of my time making props designed to fool the eye and pass as the real thing.

My next thought was, So much for the newly erected rubbish bins ive been noticing in the area.

When i first saw the newly erected rubbish bins i thought, nice bass drums, You know the green bins which they strap merrilly to street poles to tell the viewer." Hi- their throw your crap in here", but some how, they become mere warning signs, and the waste some how sits near the box, instead of inside of it.

It again forces me to ask. Why are they here? Oh, of course did i mention, bass drums. They set up a whole series of percussion objects for me to play on at interludes, whilst taking my dog for a walk.

Thank you DSW you rock!
